The Process Archive

Creative Process & Labels

These labels explain how each work was made. They are meant to provide useful detail, not to rank one creative process above another.

Eric's personal approach

How I use AI in my own creative process

This describes my personal use case, not a general stance that I expect other people to follow. In my creative work, I use AI as a tool—not an automatic content printer. It helps me bring my own ideas and visions to life in fields where I do not currently have the time or money to master every production skill involved.

I do not simply ask an AI to make something and publish whatever appears. I develop the idea, define the goal, direct the process, make choices, reject unsuitable results, customize and revise the work, and continue until it matches my vision.

I remain the director and final decision-maker. In projects where I choose to use AI, it is one of my production tools—a printer that can help turn my ideas into reality.

Modern Generative-AI Assisted · Human-Directed

What this label means

A modern generative system contributed to the work, while Eric remained responsible for the concept, direction, selection, customization, revision, arrangement, and final approval.

This includes meaningful use of tools such as ChatGPT or another LLM, prompt-based image generation, generative music or video systems, generative coding assistance, or similar modern generative tools.

Each project page can describe the tool's actual role instead of expecting one general label to explain everything.

No Modern Generative-AI Assistance

What this label means

The creative content of the work was not made with ChatGPT, other LLMs, prompt-based image, music, or video generators, generative coding assistants, or comparable modern generative systems.

This label does not mean that every tool involved was purely mechanical. Ordinary drawing programs, DAWs, synthesizers, game engines, traditional spellcheck, filters, color correction, compression, resizing, and procedural systems do not automatically place a work in the AI-assisted archive.

Utility tools and edge cases

Some tools fall between simple editing and generative creation, including AI upscaling, noise removal, source separation, automatic mastering, generative fill, and intelligent restoration. When one of these materially affects a project, its role should be disclosed on that project's page.

If ChatGPT or another modern generative system substantially brainstormed, wrote, rewrote, coded, composed, or generated part of the work, the project belongs in the assisted archive even when the final result was heavily changed.

Primarily AI-Generated

This means most of the published result came directly from a generative system with limited human transformation. It is defined here so visitors understand that it is different from the site's human-directed AI-assisted label. Jayamen Studios does not currently have a dedicated gallery for this category.
